Volunteer required for Coffee Connections in Farnham.
Coffee Connections is a monthly group run on the last Wednesday of the month from 2.30pm to 4pm, at the Memorial Hall, Babbs Mead, Farnham, GU9 7EE.
It provides a relaxed environment where isolated elderly people can connect with others, reducing feelings of loneliness and fostering a sense of belonging. It has become a lifeline for many, offering connection, joy, and a sense of purpose.
A volunteer role is available from 2pm to help set up and support the organisers who are social prescribing link workers.
The role will involve ensuring that everyone feels welcome and comfortable, such as greeting people at the door, making sure no one is sitting alone and helping to foster conversation.
The role also includes being a part of light-hearted activities to keep everyone engaged and to welcome occasional guest speakers.
