- SUPPORTING THE CHARITY AND VOLUNTARY SECTOR IN GUILDFORD AND WAVERLEY -
Voluntary Action South West Surrey is committed to working in partnership to continue to increase its impact and sustainability as the voluntary, community and faith sector link for South West Surrey. The role of infrastructure for the voluntary and community sector is multifaceted, and we aim to represent, develop and empower the sector in Guildford and Waverley to be at the forefront of positive change and development. With this commitment comes the responsibility of representing the sector at strategic forums and meetings, strengthening the sector through direct support to organisations and empowering the sector through our variety of network opportunities.
VASWS works closely with our commissioners to provide a strategic voice for the sector across our communities. We believe that we are stronger by working together and we are here to support the thousands of voluntary and community organisations in Guildford and Waverley. We offer many free services to local organisations and groups including finding suitable volunteers, funding advice, help with business planning, support with governance, policies and regulatory compliance and much more.
Do you need support? Are you starting up a group, wanting to develop your work or need to consider your organisation's future funding?
Our sector is facing ever increasing demand for services. Working in a challenging and competitive funding environment means there is increased pressure for services to be agile and innovative and to work collaboratively with partners to deliver the best outcomes for people. VASWS aims to stimulate these opportunities and enable the sector to grow, allowing groups to be independent and deliver high-quality services to the communities they support. We recognise that our strategic role in influencing will be vital to stabilising, securing and strengthening the sector as we move forward.
